Of Brooms and Ploys (PG-13, Wren only) « Thread Started on Apr 28, 2008, 9:26pm »
"Why in the world of Hogwarts is it impossible to get any privacy from Daeomi Washinoke. I swear, why the bloody hell is she your dormate?"
And this was the current and ongoing problem of a small devious Daeomi Washinoke. She did everything and anything to have Kiran for herself. He tried everything: force, submission, and even public humiliation to drive her away- but Kiran seemed to be some powerful Daeomi-poled magnet and she often became his new shadow.
Worse off, this didn't change once Kiran got a girlfriend. Now Wren was in the line of fire and any retaliaton Kiran did to send Daeomi away was Wren's doing. Apparently Wren put Kiran up to repelling her(which was so far from the truth, it was unimaginable). She was the most annoying person in the world, and as Kiran couldn't yet find a rule that prohibited stalking, he had to DEAL with it.
"Honestly, Wren. I'm tired of this crap. When are we going to get some you and me time?" He was holding Wren by the hand and was in the hall, taking every secret passage of his knowledge to evade the usual after dinner traffic. Of course, they had to follow the Captain wherever he went so he had to take several more shortcuts before losing everyone behind him.
"I swear, we should just go in this broom cupboard and...."

Wren smiled, still holding his hand. "We could..." she said, her smile becoming more of a smirk. "But, you know, broom closets aren't always well known for their ability to bring out... conversation." Her pause was put there more to make fun of Kiran than anything else. Of course, it was sugguestive in it's own right.
Daeomi was the devil incarnate. Of course, she was practically the reason Kiran and Wren had finally gotten together in the first place. But that entire thing was just confusing. And they were together now. That's what mattered, wasn't it? But Daeomi still seemed to have it out for Wren, and Kiran, no matter what they did. For Wren, mainly, she assume it was jealousy. Daeomi wanted Kiran. And a position on the Quidditch team. Wren had both. So, naturally, her aggression was aimed towards Wren. Luckily, she had people to keep her safe, especially at night as the two girls shared a dorm.
But she was used to living with murderers. Or, at least, people who wanted her dead, so it wasn't that big of a change. This ill-wisher was just short, irritating, female, and Asian.

Kiran adverted his eyes away, blushed and opened the closet door, pulling Wren in behind him.
"This is nice," he said sarcastically, pulling out his wand and tapping the door to lock it. He then lit his wand and put it on the floor so that he and Wren were lit in some spicy spotlight."
"You know, you have a great life at Hogwarts," said Kiran, with a professional conversation starter. "You have alot of friends. Alot of people who look after you. Just look at the mound of presents in your dorm."

Wren laughed. "You were the one who wanted to come here," she said. "Of course, your dorm room isn't very private..." She knew what was on his mind, of course. But, like him, she'd downplay it. If only to torture him.
"Yeah, I do," she said dreamily. "It's great. I don't know what I'd have done without them, actually." She leaned against one of the stone walls demurely, still keeping eye contact with Kiran. "Or without you, for that matter."

"Without me? I dunno. I would miss you more, to tell you the truth. After the holidays, knowing that you were to be by my side, it felt good. It was a breath of fresh air- more than that. Ever since the holidays, my parents and I aren't that close. They're very busy, and now that Ananda's gone, Girish is no companion, I had no one. Daeomi seemed hospitable, even for just a moment, but I felt nothing for her. It was you. Your beauty, your personality. I was attracted all along. I don't know why I kept denying it. I love you," he said drawing to Wren, holding her tightly in his arms, looking eye to eye.

Wren's eyes got wide as she listened to Kiran, just staying in his arms and looking up into his eyes. She couldn't say anything else in that moment except, "I love you, too." Because it was the truth. She did love him. Some may have said it was quick coming, they'd only started dating a few days after Christmas, but she didn't care. She'd known it for a while, just, hadn't acted on it until then.
Love didn't have a time frame, and whoever thought that was an idiot. A foolish idiot.
So she kissed him. Leaning up, standing on her toes, she kissed him in the broom cupboard. And it was exciting. She loved him. She really did. And he loved her.

Kiran kissed back, holding the back of her head before enclosing the space between the Chaser and Beater. The kiss deepened and Kiran was rubbing Wren's back-
"Ahh, snogging in a broomcloset, ehh? Ragoria, you're a filthy whore, aren't you?"
Kiran didn't even hear the lock click open. He withdrew from Wren, now quite angry, now for more than one reason. He was even a bit frightened
Why was Daeomi in here? More often- how did she know? Kiran wanted to stun her and continue what they were doing, but something told him tat a prefect wouldn't commonly do that.

Wren dropped away from Kiran and glanced around the broom closet.
"Washinoke, where the hell are you?" She demanded, reaching for her wand. "Kiran, you locked the door, didn't you?" She looked at him, her eyes wide more in panic than anger.
How the hell did Daeomi get in here? More importantly, WHERE the hell was she? She couldn't see her, an icy panic running through her. Maybe she was making it up. But Kiran heard it, too. So she couldn't be. No, she was still sane. Right?

Kiran seized his lit wand off the and pointed it at Daeomi. Or now, she was officially Washinoke. She no longer deserved the pleasantries of her first name being uttered by his lips, which now had no other desire but to be locked on Wren's.
"Washinoke. I want you out of here. Now! This is utterly ridiculous. Wren and I desire a bit of alone time and you have nothing better to do than stalk our heels? You broke my lock spell. What is the matter with you? Why are you so infatuated with me anyways? You must by now realize that I don't like you back. I don't find your personality at all attractive. Two, you think that if you really wanted me, you'd at least give me space while I have a girlfriend."
Daeomi stood stock still, looking on the edge of passing out or presenting her dinner. Daeomi looked over at Wren, as if she were going to give some substanstional answer. Kiran thought that Wren would not be so accomadating this time in her innocence.

As soon as the girl was revealed, Wren frowned, and had to hold herself back from cursing her.
"It's bad enough I have to sleep in the same room as you, but really? You're fucking stalking me now!" It was horrifying, actually. Come to think of it, she didn't want to go back to her dorm room. Not if Washinoke was going to be there. This just...wasn't safe. No where was safe for her. While she loved the idea of the Belleclair's home, Ian was there. And he was nowhere near safe.
She gripped Kiran's hand. "Leave, Washinoke. Now. Please." She was harassing a prefect in Kiran. She was as good as expelled.

Daeomi might have recognized defeat, but she did not not make an immediate exit. She was a nasty tinge or green. She nodded almost drunkly before swaying on the spot and (Kiran realised what was about to happen and got there just in time) fainting forward, and Kiran sort of guided her to the ground. The sleeve of her robe slipped slightly and the homing beacon was an acidic purple. Kiran tried to take it off her wrist, but it was stuck.
"Wren! Get your bracelet off! This is poisoned with something!"
Stupid girl. Far from being infatuated, this was costing Daeomi more than Kiran's respect.

Wren shrieked as Daeomi fell forward, and shrieked again as he instructed her to take off the bracelet. Quickly, she attempted to remove it, sending it clattering to the floor. Instinctively, she brought her and to her wrist, and her wrist up to her chest, cradling it as though it had been burned.
"What the HELL was that for?" She yelled at Daeomi's body. "And what the hell is that?" She pointed furiously at the homing beacon, terrified. She just wanted to be held and have something explained to her.

Kiran surveyed Daeomi on the ground, feeling slightly guilty, but otherwise merely looking for signs of life. When he observed the steady rise and fall of her chest, he was relieved- if only a bit. He stood up.
"Wren, your turn to relax. I think by now she's learned not to fool with artifacts anymore. I sure hope she's learned her lesson. And those bracelets are some kind of homing device. You haven't been seen flashes of purple light anywhere, have you? This is how she found us. I'm not sure what kind of charm it is- for all we know, she could be allergic to something in the poison, because, I doubt she'd knock you out. Remember- I'm allergic to intaking Hellebore? Who knows what's in that poison."
Kiran picked up Daeomi under the arms and knees. She was surprisingly light, but she was, after all, tiny.
"Wren, we'll take her to the Hospital Wing. Get that bracelet off the floor and get the door. Then maybe, we can find some privacy."

Wren nodded, stooping down to pick up the bracelet. "How the hell did she manage that one?" she asked, with a slight amount of remorse in her voice. Daeomi, despite stalking them, had passed out. And while she may have hated the girl, she still felt, well, bad for her. And that was allowed, wasn't it?
"I'd like that," she said, regaining some composure and straightening back up. And with Daeomi safely to be locked away in the Hospital Wing, they would have some privacy for a change.
"But I'm sure Pomfrey, Slughorn, and Dumbledore will figure out what was in it." Each one needed for a different reason.
