An Evening by the Lake « Thread Started on Jan 25, 2008, 10:35am »
Argeno stoop by the lake, the wind playing with his hair as it whipped about him. He pulled out his pocket-watch and checked the time before looking up at the sun. It's day-long journey was almost complete and it sent rays of pink and red out from it, tinting the sky in the hue of dusk. He put the watch back in his white overcoat's internal pocket. Argeno was garbed entirely in white, as he preferred to be. He had been waiting for Jacqueline for a quite some time, only because he had arrived early for their meeting. Looking up at the sun, which had not yet moved even one degree in its course through the sky, Argeno shivered, soon, the only thing keeping the cold from him was the sun, but it would soon depart for the evening. He was hoping that someone else might be willing to keep him warm for at least a short time.
His heart started to beat faster as he anticipated Jacqueline's arrival. Argeno was unsure of what he would say to her, or what exactly he was doing. He wondered why he had come out here to wait for her. But he shook his head, his hair exaggerating the motion, no, she had agreed to meet him, everything would be fine. Argeno tried to calm himself, but his heart continued to accel in its rhythm. He looked up toward the castle, hoping to see someone heading in his direction.

Jaqueline felt bad, having to blow Regulus off for half their lesson to meet Argeno. She couldn't stand Argeno up but she still felt bad about leaving Reg. She'd kissed him on his forehead before leaving. She had prepared to run out of his dorm when he tossed her his cloak and told her it would be cold soon. He winked and Jaqueline ran out of the dorm.
Jaqueline jogged out of the dorm and down to the door leading from the school to the outside world. She spotted Argeno and smiled, slowing to a walk, Regulus' cloak wrapped around her shoulders. The fact that the Black Family chrest was located on the chest opposite of the Slytherin chrest.
She smiled and walked to him. "Glad you could make it." She said.

"Of course I could make it," Argeno replied, "I'm the one that wanted to see you here." Argeno did not notice the Black Family crest on her robes; her eyes were what drew his gaze. The light of the fading sun cast a dull light on her face that seemed to draw out the light of her eyes. A smile appeared upon Argeno's face as he thought about what he wanted to say to Jacqueline. Silence did him no good before, and saying the first impulse of his mind served him well. "Your eyes look beautiful in the sun's dying light," he told her, his visible breath dancing about as it ascended towards the heavens.

Jaqueline blushed at his comment about her eyes. She walked to him, wrapping her arms around him in a hug. She wrapped the cloak around him, not wanting to hand it to him because it was Regulus' but not wanting him to be cold either. "It's not the sun that makes my eyes look beautiful." She said, implying it was him that had put the light in her eyes.

Argeno put his arms around Jaqueline as she embraced him. He peered deep into her face, and after a few moments, took one of his hands and brushed a lock of hair from Jaqueline's face. "The celestial conditions can affect no change in what is everlasting. The heavens have no power of you, my dear, a beauty that even the blind must recognize." He wanted to move to kiss her, but paused, deeming it too early to make such a bold act.
The sun fell behind a curtain of trees, into the west, but it was not yet dark, as beams of red burst forth, in the wake of Apollo's descending chariot. Despite the light still emanating from the sun, the cold of night still attempted to move into Argeno, but Jaqueline' body and cloak, managed to keep him warm.

Jaqueline could not help but blush at his words. They were complicated but romantic. As his hand brushed a piece of hair from her face, the blush deepened. Part of Jaqueline was curious as to what was wrong with her. She wasn't even this blushy with Regulus, then again Regulus never showed this kind of interest her. It was nice to have a crush on somebody and know they had the same feelings.
She sighed, looking at the sky. She had never seen it from the lake, having always watched it from the window with Regulus. "It is beautiful." She whispered, leaning her head on his shoulder. She snuggled up to him, smiling at the view. It was perfect so far.

Argeno put his right arm around Jaqueline's waist, and held her slightly tighter as she moved close to him. "Isn't it though," Argeno spoke in response to Jaqueline, "I always find it breath-taking." He, however, was not talking about the scene of the sun-set over the lake, as Jaqueline was, but rather about the scene between the two of them.
As she rested her head on his shoulder, Argeno moved his left hand over toward her open hand, and gripped it ever so gently. He also let his head tilt just so to his right, resting his head gently upon hers. Feeling it to be more suitable, Argeno let silence win over the scene, as he caressed the back of Jaqueline's hand, which he was holding between the two of them.
The sun finally set, allowing the moon to light up the night sky. In the lake, the large, gray orb was reflected. Argeno noticed a very bright dot of yellow light near the moon; it was the evening star, Venus.
