Jeanie shifted impatiently upon the navy blue-and-white-striped couch where she reclined, waiting for her friend Regulus to come meet her. He had quickly caught her in the corridors earlier to ask her to meet up with him at eight o’clock in their usual spot, so here she was… at 7:55, and had been here for about ten minutes. The nuisance of waiting, in fact, was why she typically let others wait for her… she hated the long drag of time doing nothing that waiting required.
Of course, Regulus was completely worth it. She still wanted to talk to him about New Year’s, so they could talk about whatever they had not via owl.
Jeanie was dressed up a bit more than was usual for her… she had brushed her long, straight hair… and actually taken advantage of Crys’ iron so she could flatten it more as fashion demanded! She had the correct texture- not a curl to be found- but her locks were also just a little too thick. An iron and board could reduce that problem. She also had put on small gold hoops- it was good that she had finally managed to obtain her parents’ consent over the holidays! She liked the result of her “mutilated ears” very much… it gave the “good girl” a bit of an edge. She had also traded her sports watch for the golden one she usually only took out for special occasions, and put on a necklace… and even eyeshadow! Mascara, luckily, was unnecessary… she already had thick, long, dark lashes.
Her outfit consisted of a peasant blouse with frilly sleeves, bellbottoms, and platform sneakers. She had not COMPLETELY lost herself. Besides, she was not about to show off her perpetually bruised legs in a skirt, and it was cold.
Rolling onto her belly, Jeanette folded her arms about one of the sofa’s and rested her chin upon them. Where was Regulus? Her watch now read about 7:57… it was difficult to tell without her sports watch.

Regulus Black entered the room--using the unlocking charm that he and Jeanie made sure to create when they were alone together in the room. They didn't need others wandering in or spying, even if it was a secret room to begin with. Clad in black jeans and a black t-shirt--Regulus entered and smiled. The room was warm and welcoming. He knew he wasn't late, and was surprised to see Jeanie there already, laying on the couch like she had been waiting a while. His message did say 8 o'clock right? He wondered if he messed up his own message. That would be embarassing!
"Are you early or am I extrememly late?" Regulus questioned walking towards the couch, still smiling of course. He couldn't help but smile when he was around Jeanie and they were alone together. He was impressed that she had even done her hair and looked really nice--casual, but nice. He was used to her tank tops and running shorts, so the bellbottoms and blouse caught him off gaurd slightly. He wished right then that he had dressed a little more elegantly. He figured they would just talk of the holidays and what had happened on New Years. He still laughed about her letters to him the next day asking what had happened. He was somewhat of a git when he replied, but he figured she would be amused later when she sobered up and reread the letters.

Jeanie dramatically spread her arms and put on a feigned expression of horror. "Oh, sweet Jesus, I'm actually EARLY... the apocalypse is coming! Or it shall if the Chudley Cannons win a game as well...." she chuckled, flipping herself onto her back and then sitting up upon the couch to make some room for her friend. "Here, have a seat now that I've budged up..."
She looked expectantly at Regulus, toying with the left sleeve of her blouse and grinning slightly.
Regulus looked as put-together and handsome as ever he did. He also had what Muggles might call a "rocker" look, with his all black ensemble. She liked it.

Regulus smiled and laughed at the Chudley Cannons remark. He figured that the world would end if they ever won a game, kind of like Jeanie actually being early. Regulus wondered if he was dreaming for a second, then figured he couldn't be--he had actually slept the night before and during most of break. It was a great change, yet not one that his body was willing to give up so easily. Regulus was not fighting to stay awake to do homework and make sure things were perfect. He and his perfection--he wondered where he got it from.
"It's not like you take up all that room--though I'm sure if I sat on you, you might get squished" Regulus said, smiling. He ran his hand through his shaggy black hair and sat down. He turned to Jeanie, still smiling.
"So, how was holiday for you? What you remember of it, of course...." Regulus was indeed amused by Jeanie's lack of knowledge of New Years. He was being a git, and he knew it--but he couldn't help himself. He wished to have a little fun before they talked seriously about what had happened that night. There were some things he wished to know--such as if him kissing her was the source of her vomiting shortly afterward, or if it was completely alcohol related.

Jeanie smirked. stretching her long, wiry limbs to take over as much sofa as she could pull off... including resting a foot in Regulus' lap, simply to overemphasize just how much room even "the tallest size zero ever seen... and the size zero is a bit loose!" by the seamstress her parents had dragged her to for her older cousin's upcoming wedding, according to her shocked remark, could manage. Rolling her dark eyes at the memory that had randomly surfaced in her mind, she thought Gah... I can't help having tiny and delicate bones and muscles!
Whatever. At least having a straight, curveless figure was currently the vogue, although the seventies still favored a healthier-looking physique.
As she allowed one arm to dangle over the arm of the sofa upon which she rested her head, the avid runner continued her comeback by saying, "Hey, the best things are best left to the imagination." She was, of course, oblivious to the irony of her innocent remark. "Also... the holiday was brilliant... cut another 2 seconds from my half-mile... and I've dropped below a 4:55 mile... looking to break 4:50, just 3 seconds to go, in fact!"
That 4:52 had been both exhilirating and unexpected.

Regulus grinned and shook his head. He didn't really understand the Muggle sport of running, execpt that the first person to reach the finish line won. It didn't matter how fast you were, if you were able to pass the leader, you had done your job. Though, Regulus knew from that less than a 4:55 in a mile run was beyond great. It truly was brilliant. Regulus guessed that his own mile was somewhere around 5:45 or 6 mintues, for he had tried racing Jeanie before, and he came no where close to catching her. In the beginning he would be way ahead, but since he didn't pace himself, he fell back and she woudl surpass him quickly. It was a very interesting sport that actually did involve a lot of talent and endurance.
"That's bloody brillant. I don't know how you do it! I can't run like that, even if i trained for it I probably wouldn't be able to..."Regulus said, still shaking his head. He noticed how much of the couch she was taking up, and wondered how such a tiny girl actually COULD take up that much room. Either way, Regulus grabbed her foot and started doing little pinches on her legs--nothing that hurt, but it was more of a tickling effect. He smiled as he did this, wondering if Jeanie was ticklish on her legs. He guessed that after what she put them through, they wouldn't be very ticklish, but he figured he'd at least try.

Jeanie shrugged as Regulus reacted ever-so-enthusiastically about her time. She was quite used to that reaction; people believing her times were phenomenal. They really were not; people such as Bridget Jones and even Joanie were faster... but she often addressed such reactions by taking them in stride- no pun intended.
She did not have much time to reflect over how overenthusiastically she was praised, however, because Regulus began TICKLING her- and Jeanie was very ticklish. She began yelping and giggling, swatting Reg on the shoulder. "You meanie!" she squealed, gripping the seat and still giggling.

Regulus smiled and laughed, moving up from her legs to her stomache--in doing so, moving next to her on the couch as well. Grabbing her sides, Regulus was very amused that his sudden urge to tickle her was giving such great success. He's glad she wasn't sloshed this time though, otherwise he would be wearing her stomache contents...again. After a couple mintues of massive tickling, Regulus decided that she probably needed to breath, and stopped.
"I'm not a meanie--I'm just paying you back for New Years!" Regulus said, smiling agian. He knew that she didn't remember what happened now. Otherwise she would have been apoligising up and down for throwing up on him. This was payback alright--and it was way better than he expected! He didn't mind taking care of Jeanie at the party, he rather enjoyed it since he was usually the one to be fussed over.
((sorry its so short, i'm limited on internet...dunno whats wrong with it--i get it back and it still doesnt work right!! grrrr....))

"AHHHH! You are a horrible person!" Jeanie managed to yelp, kicking and laughing uproaraciously as Regulus changed the location of his tickling. She was both disappointed and relieved when he stopped- if that combination was even possible. It was good breathg was kind of necessary for the living, but bad because well... her thoughts there were best left to the imagnation.
Jeanie was still laughing, even after Regulus had stopped tickling her. She could not resist the urge to give his black hair a swat. When she saw just how very elegant it looked and waved when she did thus, the freckle-faced girl repeated her action upon the soft strands, drawing her bony knees up to her chest. It took some time for the "payback" comment about New Years. Payback for what? She frowned- she honestly could not say she remembered much of that night.... she just remembered partying, and then she had entered a blackout period, she presumed- for the next morning she had found herself greeted by being shaken awake by her cousin- and a splitting headache.
"Paying me back for what?" She turned her head to scrutinize his face, confused.

"Don't remember do you?" Regulus grinned. He wasn't sure if he wanted to wait it out a little longer to torture her or if he wanted to hint towards it. Actually, now that he really thought about it, either way it would be some sort of slight torture. His grin widened and his dark eyebrows raised higher up on his forhead.
"Lets just say I had to take care of you for a while once the fireworks stopped....though I still have a few questions about your upchuck reflexes....Tell me, do I disgust you at all, or was it just a bad-timing sort of thing?" Regulus tried to be very vague--and he believed he succeed to a certain point. He grabbed at her side again to give her another tickle, laughing as he did so. For being thrown-up upon at a party by a girl he fancied, he was in very good spirits that night, as well as now. Normally one would be repulsed by such a fact, but Regulus didn't seem to care. He was concerned for Jeanie's health, which is what he told Giacomo when they walked her to the bathroom and Regulus sat with her until Giacomo back back with a robe for Regulus and a pajama set for Jeanie to change into once she was feeling better and cleaned up. It was rather interesting walking out of a bathroom in a robe (when walking in he was only wearing a thin potato sack). It was an interesting night, and one that Regulus would remember forever--even if the girl of his dreams couldn't recall it.

Jeanette was slightly mortified , for indeed she could recollect very little of the night. She remembeded woho had come and everybody's costumes, and playing beer pong, but otherwise everything seemed to be a big haze. For instance, the only reason she knew the police had come was the fit that Andy's parents had thrown when the Pritchard family was fined for the noise level and the fact that there were people ranging from twelve through seventeen staggering all over the place and leaving enough pavement pizzas to support a shop.
However- she thought that simply not remembering much was embarassing? She was about to lose more face. "Wait... upchucking reflexes? What? Er... did I make a pavement pizza talking to you?"
Her olive-toned, freckled cheeks were turning bright red.
Bloody hell... she'd thrown up in front of him?

Regulus smirked. Pavement pizza while talking to him? Interesting statement. Regulus shrugged.
"Well, it wasn't really on the pavement...or lawn, house, table, or in the loo..."He said and kept smirking. He hoped she would understand where he was going with this. If not, well, he would have more fun with it anyway. It wasn't as though she was the only one to be sick that night, but she was basically the only one he wanted to make sure was ok and had everything she needed before he left. Regulus was one of the last few to leave, hiding his broom from the muggle police in the closet by the stairs, as well as his cloak. It was a good thing he didn't have to really explain the fluffy white robe and having to keep going back to check on Jeanie in the bathroom--they seemed to either not notice or to understand that he wasn't as smashed as the rest of them and was trying to take care of a friend.
"Actually, I don't believe anything got on the ground at all now that I think about it...." Regulus smiled.

None had made it on the ground? What was Regulus talking about? Where could it possibly have gone if not on the ground? Unless... Oh, bloody hell. Bloody, bloody hell. No. Please. No. NO.
As comprehension began to settle itself upon Jeanette, the Hufflepuff's olive skin first paled just ever so slightly before a delicate shade of pink surfaced upon her hollow cheeks.
Oh no I did not!
However, there was no denying it. She had managed to unload the contents of her stomach- all over her crush. She could not possibly be any more mortified. It just simply was not happening. She just wanted to sink through the floor and be swallowed alive.
Oh yes you did, Jeanie. Oh yes you did. Ohhhh boy, did you ever!
The first thing out of her mouth, once she could make sound, was unintelligible gibberish- which hardly dimisnished the embarrassment the adolescent already felt. Oh, why wouldn't her vocal cords work?
Finally, what she managed was something she felt made her sound even more idiotic- "You mean... it didn't go on the ground? Wait.. no... you said that... er.... hofuck![/i]
Was she ever the eloquent one today...
